Local Player Advisory Board

The Golf Channel Am Tour Player Advisory Board is comprised of 25 current Golf Channel Am Tour players from across the country who will serve as advisors and consultants with the Am Tour National Office on matters affecting Golf Channel Am Tour members, tournaments, and policies. The PAB was created to give the Am Tour players an outlet to share ideas, thoughts, and opinions with the National Office.

What does it mean to you to be on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • It is an honor to be asked to participate in a role that can help make the tour better for everyone involved. I enjoyed my first year on the tour immensely and wanted to help the tour any way I could. I appreciate the opportunity to help make a difference.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I would like to be a voice for my local tour members. I would also hope any player on the tour who sees me at an event would not hesitate to bring any issues, concerns or praise regarding the tour to my attention so it can be raised with the Advisory Board. I hope my serving on the board will result in the tour becoming bigger and better.

  • To get feedback from tour players allowing them to voice any concerns and feedback they may have and passing that information on to the Player Advisory Board and tour staff.

  • Ensure that players on tour know that they have advocates on the Advisory Board and to represent them – to help the tour continue to improve and thrive.

  • I feel privileged to be part of an organization that is promoting the growth of competitive golf at all levels. Being on the Board will allow me to be a voice to both the Tour players and the Golf Channel Amateur Tour which will further the development and enjoyment of the Tour.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I would like to continue to improve the overall golf experience, enhance communication between the players and the Tour, and find ways to further market the GC Am Tour to other competitive golfers.

What does it mean to you to be on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • Being invited to participate is a true honor and I look forward to continue listening to my fellow tour players for comments and suggestions they offer to bring to the board for consideration. The Golf Channel Amateur Tour offers a unique competitive experience with the opportunity to meet fellow golfers from around the country with like ability. With my past experience as a volunteer in the golf community, I hope to bring valuable experience as a player, USGA Rules official and volunteer.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • One personal goal I would like to accomplish is gaining more female participation on our local tour. I think by mainly focusing on ideas to retain what is done well and improve on areas that may need more focus and attention would be a step in the right direction. Right now, the events are really well run and professional…kudos to the tour directors!

  • It means a lot to be chosen to represent my friends and competitors. I hope I can be the right voice that our tour and players need.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I hope to bring my unique point of views from my friends, competitors, and others within the golfing community to better our tour. I hope we can better the competition, find ways to speed up slow play, and work together to make it fun for everybody.

  • It’s a tremendous honor. To be a representative for thousands of am tour players gives you a sense of responsibility and ambition to achieve the goals of the players.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I want to give input for a better marketing strategy to reach new players, growing the tour from the outside and from within. Increase participation within each local tour, and find out why, if it cannot grow. I also want to give back to the player. The player deserves more of a return. It’s more than just the competition.

What does it mean to you to be on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • Being in the advertising business for 30+ years I know how critical communication is. The opportunity for the players to voice new ideas and concerns is critical with respect to the growth of the tour. I’m excited to be a part of the “player’s voice.”

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • First and foremost I want to be the voice for the players and in order to do this I have to be a good listener. I hope to accomplish that by visiting tour players on my home tour and throughout the country during my travels. From this I will get a true feel for their feedback and bring that back to the national office.

  • I now have the opportunity to provide feedback from Tour members on how to make the Tour the best possible amateur tour of its kind. I think this type of group should convey not just issues that can be improved but also to encourage the continuation of policies that are popular with members.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • With the connections of the Golf Channel, the Tour has the opportunity to be the best Tour of its kind for golfers of all abilities. I will encourage the Tour to continue to try and find the best possible venues for majors and local events, factoring in cost with the quality of the courses.

  • It defines my responsibility to Competitors on the Tour to work with the Am Tour team to create a great experience for everyone involved – specifically focused on actively soliciting feedback from a broad spectrum of Tour players and communicating with the Advisory Board and the Am Tour team.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I’d like to accomplish several things: (1) Improve communication between Am Tour players (particularly those in other Local Tours who are nearby), (2) Provide a mechanism to provide actionable suggestions and feedback to the Am Tour team, (3) Create greater awareness around the Player Advisory Board among the competitors, ensuring they view it as a conduit to improve the Am Tour experience, and (4) Help grow the number of competitors locally.

  • I would like to be able to bring the voice of the average golfer to the attention of the administration side. I travel to numerous events and engage other participants in their tour experience and how the tour can get better. I would be proud to participate in the process of improving the tour.

What will you look to accomplish on the Player Advisory Board?:

  • I have played in over 100 events since 2008 and can honestly say that 99% of them have run smoothly. There are all small areas of improvement as in any business. I would like to see the Tour continue to expand and grow all over the World. It would be awesome to have an international Major every 2 years.

  • I hope to bring a different perspective from my 15+ years of golf industry experience to help make events better as well as potentially better event sites.
